Built for the whole season
This is a table meant to work long past December. Tartan reads festive in November and quietly at home in February. The juniper rings leave the center of the table for a stack of books by the fire. The burgundy holder carries a votive onto a nightstand in January. Nothing in the box has to go back in the closet when the season turns.
Every piece is chosen for how it feels in the hand. The runner is a soft, substantial weave with a stain-resistant finish — wine and candle wax wipe away, and it goes straight back in the washing machine between gatherings. The garland layers magnolia, Norfolk pine and cedar into five feet of fullness that holds all season without shedding. The candle holders are turned from solid wood, three pounds as a set, steady under a tall taper. The napkin rings are cut from branches with their bark edge left on, so no two are alike. Four napkins and four rings dress four settings, and one extra set of each stretches the table to six.
